| Do you agree with Mike Atherton's views on Sachin? | | Mike atherton says that Sachin is not the greatest ever but one of the greatest batsman. He views sachin as an armoured guy whereas old timers used to bat without any guards (of course, groin guard will be there -)) I partially agree with him but for me, he is my personal favorite even though his record in finals is poor. At times, he played some of the gem of an innings. His backward punch shot is too good and I havent seen any body executing with style. | |
| | some advice to novice drinker | | well have so many friends that are new to drinking and there first time isnt that always great. i for one started with wines that i think are more suitable for first timers than beer for they tend to be sweeter.well if your a novice drinker you shouldn't drink with a empty stomach this will make it easier to be drunk, nor a full stomach more susceptible to vomiting.mix drinks even if they taste better is still has alcohol in it. Seen people especially girls that will chug a pitcher full of sweet tasting drinks and be so drunk that they don't know what happened.eating while drinking is better will lessen your intake and have more time to recover after the last bottle.and this is the best advice i can give you, if you cannot handle more then stop. Stopping is the best way to stop those alcohol devils.some of my advice to novice drinker because i hate it when some of my novice friends are asking me what happened and i have to explain it more than twice. | |
| | What happened to companies hiring full time employees? | | I work in retail.The company I work for started out hring only full time employees that would be dedicated to the company.(I won't tell you the name but the intials are H.D.)Now they only hire part timers so they can cut their hours when they feel like it or lay them off for no real reason.They can hire them at a low non-livable wage and not offer them benifits.That saves the company,that makes billions of dollars a year,money.
Of course,that part time employee has to work at least 2 jobs to be able to squeek by.If they get hurt or sick,the insurance probably won't cover everything.They go deeper into debt,while people that have never worked in a retail store,make millions.
Then the idiots that run the company preach customer service.How good do you think the service is going to be from an employee that's just there on a temporary basis because they can't make a living working for the company they're with? | |
| | It is new members who START too many topics here. | | I have observed the no-response trend for the past three to four days. Most of the no responses topics are from new users to mylot. Is it because they try to make a fast buck here in mylot. OR, is it because all the old-timers are[b]arrogant[/b] and[b] too proud[/b] to respond in new user topics?I am risking my reputation and star rating here, by calling names, but, i would not tolerate anymore.
Just now, I have seen one new member, with about 34 postings, feeling depressed and commenting that he/she brings bad luck to others, as the topic was deleted due to not following admin guidelines. And, I expected other seniors to be at the aid of the newbie.And, there is yet another newbie, who started posting just one topic in different subjects of interest. He/She presumed that those topics will be listed separately.How sad? Where are all the senior mylotters? | |
| | Supreme Court gave landmark judgement on premarital sex..... | | Tradionalists and other old timers might be not happy about this judgement but this is one of the best ever or the best judgement regarding the society proceedings especially in conservative society like Indian. I was wondering why there is so much fuss about the premarital sex since its considered taboo in India to have sex before marriage. As per biology, Humans can indulge sex after 14 years since their bodies and hormones will be pumping with sexual excitement. But due to the society and civilized structure of modern humans, its delayed for another 5 years so that society standing also play a part. So premarital sex is not at all an issue and its should be allowed. Nobody should dictate what a 16 year old person should do. Only precaution should be taken is in the case of early pregnancy and sexual healthcare. Maybe Indian society will go for a change after this ruling and become a modern superpower...... | |
| | Scammed Or Scammer? | | For those of us who spend any time at all in any of the make money online discussions here on mylot (and probably elsewhere) it doesn't take long to notice a greater percentage of the discussions revolve around sites being scams - are they legit, will they continue to be legit etc etc and yes it's definitely a problem in the world of online income - a lot of sites don't end up paying (and as a side note does that actually make them a scam - generally a scam is when you've been tricked into paying out money - but that's not my point:-) )It's seems to me for as many discussions as to sites being scams there's also quite a few that show readers how to in a nutshell scam the PTCs etc.Now I don't do the PTA program but if you're not following along with the sites guidelines, or you're opening 20 tabs at a time, using scripts that confuse timers etc etc aren't you in turn being a scammer?Perhaps, in the long term, if both sides played by the rules there'd be a lot less scam sites around or is that just being naive in believing that honesty is the best policy?I know that the vast majority of people do play by the rules, and there are good honest, PTA sites out there and... | |
| | Since allstar Survivor seasons will be yearly .....make your allstar themes!!!! | | (this discussion is about Survivor, if you dont watch Survivor or not interested please dont post because its not helpful)Since it has been declared that every other seasons will be allstars,(whether you like it or not, The casting department gets lazy...) What themes do you think CBS can come up with? so it wont get old, We already have, A Half Allstars(Fans vs. Favorites) and We just had Heroes vs. Villains and there was the rumored 2nd chance edition (allstars of those people who were voted off early)I hope no one will be playing for the 3rd time again, I wont mind second timers since allstars were about them. | | Did you see the bobsled member split her pants? Has this ever happened to you? | | I just saw a hilarious video of a female bobsled member split her pants just before here race. Both her and her partner were getting in their stances to push the bobsled, when the one woman squatted and her outfit split right across the crack. It looked like she was wearing a g-string, so all you could see was a little flesh and not the inner hole. She seemed to act like she didn't notice, but she must have felt the cold breeze back there. I guess she figured because the race was just about to start, she couldn't do anything about it anyway. All the judges and timers in the back were trying to hold there laughter. I can't remember a time when this happened to me during a sporting event in public. The only time my pants came off was when I was around 9 years old and my friend pulled down my swimming trunks in the pool and everybody got to see the moon that afternoon. Has anything like this happened to any of you? Please let us now about anytime you were exposed in public. | |
| | Should MUMBAI INDIANS Experiment For The Last Match Against KKR? | | Mumbai Indians play their last game against Kolkatta Night Riders on 19th April. Infact this is going to be the last game of the round robin group matches of IPL3 before the semi-finals begin!!So, what should MI do for this match? Should they experiment or not? That is the big question. If they experiment then there is fear of losing the winning momentum. If they do not rest their key players then there are chances that they may be jaded and not be fresh for the sterner tests ahead!!I feel MI should take their chance and rest a few key players to keep them fresh and fit for the knock-out stages. However, by making the changes I do not feel that MI will do any harm to themselves and will still be able to maintain their winning momentum.
Zaheer Zhan and Harbhajan Singh are not only key members of MI team but also team India for whom they will be playing in the T20 World Cup in a few weeks from now. So resting both of them is a must. They could be replaced by Dhaval Kulkarni and Ali Murtuza respectively.Lasith Malinga could be brought back to get his rythm back. he can come in place of Dilhara Fernando. This will also keep the sting in the MI bowling attack intact!

| | I got fired today. Well, not really FIRED... | | I teach part time at a local University here in my area. It's summer vacation time and most part timers are not teaching. But I was told that the subject I was handling would be offered this summer. I did teach it for two days now only to find out a few minutes ago that it will be dissolved.Now, I'm virtually jobless and have no sources of funds this summer. Worst, tomorrow is my birthday. Whew. What a way to start.Any idea on how I'm going to find source of funds for such a short notice? I won't be able to teach in other schools for by now the slots would be filled since classes has started already. | |
