| | | Keychain Digital Camera | | I've been looking all over for this everywhere. It is a digital camera as small as a keychain and can also be used as a web cam. I've seen a lot on ebay, but I need it asap, as a farewell gift for a loved one who is leaving for abroad. I've been roaming around in malls and searching online, but there is nothing. I found one, but his price was very unreasonable, over over priced. I am from the Philippines, so if anybody could help me out there hehehe, please do. It is a mini digital camera, or 4 in 1 mini digital camera, the brand may be vivitar, innovage, etc, there are lots of brands for it hehe. | |
| | Uploading photos | | Is it possible I can upload pictures on the computer that were taken from a regular camera? What about pictures that were taken a long time ago? Or one taken from Olan Mills? I've seen several really old ones on ancestry.com. I'm new to uploading pictures and I don't know how to do this. When I learn, I will post one of myself on mylot. I have a mini digital camera but I'm not sure if I know how to use it. I tried taking pictures with it but you can't tell what they are. I read the instructions and everything but I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right. | |

And it just so happens that I'm familiar with the technological trends that have swept our culture these past few years. The advent of the notebook computers, mini-digital cameras, usb flash drives, 3g phones, mp3s, mp4s, PSPs and other modern electronic devices have consistently flooded our market that you cannot just ignore the benefits and opportunity that these products offer to non-technical persons like me. So everytime I insert my USB drive to my laptop, my boss flashes a sheepish grin, as if thinking in his head, 'here he goes again, this USB geek'. I really don't mind him thinking that way. Because I know I am just keeping myself abreast with the times. I don't want to be left behind. How about you? Are you into the gadgets and gizmos of our times? | |
| | Data Can Now Be Stored on Paper... | | Is it time to say goodbye to CDs, DVDs, Zip drives? A Kerala student has developed a technique for portable data whereby the data can now be stored on ordinary paper. And to boot, larger amounts of data can be had on lesser space. The immediate question that pops into the mind is how to retrieve the data. Will it be as easy as feeding a floppy disc or CD into the drive and having it on the monitor? Perhaps it will be much easier than that. The piece of paper or even plastic sheet storing the data has only to be scanned in the scanner and read over the monitor. So wait, scan drive would be part of your computer. Named "Rainbow Technology", the new technique is the brainchild of Sainul Abideen, who has just finished his MCA at Muslim Educational Society Engineering College in Kuttipuram in Kerala's Malappuram district. The extremely low-cost technology will drastically reduce the cost of storage and provide for high-speed storage as well. Files in any format such as movie files, songs, images and text can be stored using this technology. Currently, of the several options available for data storage, DVDs are the best mode.
