| Televisaphonernetting | | Remember in the movie "Running Man" with Arnold Schwartzeneger, how excited we were when we saw voice command tv and lighting, then later video phones in "Total Recall" and finally Large Screen LCD or plasma screen telephone/ internet/ cable tv in the "Demolition Man"Thanks to the ingenuity of movie editing we were able to see the ideas so many had written and dreamed of. Who would have thought we would actually see our world evolving in just this way? What was only fashionable ideas in science fiction has actually become reality as many of you can attest to as you sit here reading while talking on your digital phone or voice on your pc and watch a movie. Some I'm sure are like me, looking like the desk of the Doc in the movie "CopyCat" with several monitors so you can multitask, while I'm sure there are some with Large Screen digital monitors partitioned off in to the various windows. Either way, we are partaking of what was once make believe. Now along comes High Definition TV and much like when everyone had to upgrade from black and white televisions to color, in a few years we will all have to be... | |

| | game review. Hasbro classic game ollection | | There are four games in this collection Risk, Scrabble, Monopoly, and Monopoly here and now.Risk works fine, great in fact the game is fun and exciting to play with good graphics and sound quality. Risk is challenging and never boring.Scrabble installs fine, also has good sound and graphics. I can't really review it though as Scrabble really is not my favorite game. The other two games, I'll review togetherr. Both have good graphics and sound quality and are fun to play IF YOU HAVE A DESK TOP or a large screen on your lap top. If you have a smaller laptop like me, you'll find you can not play the monopoly game as they go off screen. So there's my review. | |
| | Why I hate buying expensive things | | It is not that I would rather go to the thrift store and pick up a pair of slacks and a skirt and blouse that look good on me and that were high end name brands that were thrown away, it is when I splurge that some get the idea that if=---- bought a pair of shoes that cost $200, or a jacket that was $200, then she can afford to pay for this and that. So my coat was getting pretty shabby, and my friend said that we would look for one in the thrift store, but none of them looked good on me, there was none at the regular store I usually buy at my size.
So we went to this leather place and got a jacket that cost a bit much even though it was on sale, but it seems when I get something expensive, there is the thought that i have all this money to spend. And I feel that my friend figured that if we just bought a piano (and paid for it in full) that I can afford to buy an expensive jacket, and now my husband wants an expensive lap top right now.
Well people, just because someone buys something expensive, be it a fur coat, a large screen Tv, a Rolls Royce, does not mean that they can keep buying more expensive things. Often they have to sacrifice to get that expensive item. That came...
| | Sand art | | A friend sent me this youtube link, showing a woman basically fingerpainting in sand. I want to share it with you because I think it's amazing.
The video shows Kseniya Simonova, 24, drawing a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II. The images, projected onto a large screen, won her the top prize of about $130,000.00 on "Ukraine’s Got Talent".http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=vOhf3OvRXKg

If it is on your wish list and you get one would be be as happy as if you won the lottery? Will you jump up and down and feel like a kid all over again? And are you wishing for the largest television ever or are you wishing for one that hans on the wall like a picture? And if you bought someone one how do you think they will react?
| | A Question for the "right" side | | I have a question from the "right" side of the political spectrum. Doesn't the right mostly believe in small government with less personal invasion? Or what exactly does small government mean to you? I ask because I was reading an article that I thought must be a joke (after reading the title) and anyway it was about the governor of California wanting to ban the "energy-hogging televisions". According to the article-"It would put in place a set of energy efficiency mandates for large-screen TVs that would effectively ban the current generation of plasma TVs with screens over 40 inches. The law would require a 33 percent improvement in energy efficiency for all TVs sold starting Jan. 1, 2011, and a whopping 50 percent improvement for sets sold starting Jan. 1, 2013."So is the government telling citizens what size of television they may own small government? Or is it ok because California has energy issues?:http://www.dailyfinance.com/2009/10/26/schwarzenegger-to-television-makers-go-green-or-stay-out-of-cal/?icid=main|main|dl4|link5|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailyfinance.com%2F2009%2F10%2F26%2Fschwarzenegger-to-television-makers-go-green-or-stay-out-of-cal%2F | |
