| kids | | Its funny I responded to a discussion almost about this yesterday, so I guess now it is venting. I have 3 kids. A 3 year old girl, going through the mine! stage. A 7 year old girl, the best way I can explain her in short is trying to find her place, and an 8 year old boy who thinks nobody believes him, cause he always trying to get things his way. All three of them think they are "sneeky". Yes, probably one of the worst traits that they got from me. My son is making me so mad right now! I allow them to play on my desk top on the weekends. An hour each kid and they rotate. My son is always trying to kick his sisters off before their time is up, and when he is on he sneaks in and says oh I am saving the game, (there is no saving the game, its just him trying to get more time). I am leaving for the store in a little bit and when I come back I am going to really make him mad at me, cause I am so sick of all this arguing, and I really don't want to have to punish all of them cause he wants to be greedy. I am buying a kitchen timer, and putting it in the room with the computer, and when they hear the bell your turn is over and that is it. If they are still on it after that bell, they... | |
| | Thank goodness for smoke detectors! | | Have you ever not taken your own advice? Just the other day I advised a friend of mine here to use a kitchen timer so that her water doesn't boil dry and then today I didn't follow my own advice! I heard the smoke alarm going off and went to the kitchen to find a dry pan on a red-hot burner! I also read a post last night about a pork roast by Grandpa Bob and it reminded me to take my roast out of the freezer. I fully intended to do so but then got busy on something else and only remembered this morning to do it! Well, I have some frozen dinners so one of them will be my dinner. I'm so absent minded and easily distracted these days!Have you ever not followed your own advice, especially after you've just dished it out to someone?[em]lol[/em] What was the result?m so sick of all this arguing, and I really don't want to have to punish all of them cause he wants to be greedy. I am buying a kitchen timer, and putting it in the room with the computer, and when they hear the bell your turn is over and that is it. If they are still on it after that bell, they lose privilege of using it for a week. (Summer vacation is in 1 week). The same... | |
| | My son got the cutest gift from my sister | | My sister got my son the cutest gift for Christmas that I forgot to share. She also go the same thing for my niece. They both got measuring spoons, measuring cups, a colander, a mixing spoon, a bowl scraper, 2 mini muffin tins, a kitchen timer, and a few other little kitchen things. It was so cute. Now he is all about wanting to bake things. Do you have a kid that likes to help in the kitchen? | |
