| What do you do with your christmas trees? Do you recycle them? | | I ask this question because I have heard ways you can recycle your tree without having it take up space in a landfile! One thing you can do is put it in your backyard,if you have one,and let it be shelters for birds and other creatures! Some trees in the area get collected and put in lakes! The trees make good fish food and shelter for the fish from certain predators! I also know you can make mulch out of christmas trees! These are some of the things you can do with your trees after the holidays! I think recycling christmas trees in an awesome idea! | |

| | Christmas Trees - Live vs. Artificial | | Okay I was a diehard believer in live trees since I was a child. My parents always used a live tree as did we. But several years ago the prices of trees became ridiculous and the kids were grown and didn't participate in the annual tree hunting expedition. So we made the decision to go artificial. They make some really realistic ones now. I can put the tree up a little earlier. No watering. No mess. I have been converted. So let the games begin - do you like live or artificial trees. | |

| | Do you think that Santa, presents and Christmas trees detract from Christmas? | | There is so much hype around at Christmas time about Santa Claus, buying presents, sales, Christmas trees etc.I have heard of some Christians that are no longer even giving Christmas cards because they believe that all the commercial hype is really based on pagan beliefs.I am a Christian and believe that many people lose sight of Jesus at Christmas time, but I don't there is any harm in putting up a Christmas tree and buying friends and family presents as long as you put Jesus first.

| | | Christmas Trees | | Do you put up an artificial tree or a real tree for Christmas? If it is a real tree, do you get it pre-cut or do you go to a farm or the woods to cut your own tree? Some people even buy the ones with the roots still on it and re plant it after the holiday.
I remember going to a tree farm when I was a kid and my Dad cutting our tree down. When my brothers got older, they were handed the saw with great pride. I was handed the saw too with pride, but being the youngest of 6 and a girl it took many years for it to be my turn. We are all grown up and our parents are no longer with us, but some of us have carried that tradition on.
I am much older now and my husband and I get a pre-cut tree, which we usually buy from the boy scouts tree lot in town. We are very choosey when it comes time for getting the "perfect tree". My husband loves to find the biggest one he can, I like to find the one with the best shape, stiff branches to hold all the ornaments and one that will fit in front of the picture window and not flow too far into the living area. Sometimes I have to talk him out of the biggest one and sometimes I lose that talk. We have a lot of fun though. | |

| How many Christmas trees do you put up? | | I have noticed the last few years that people around here are putting up two or three Christmas trees in their house.
My neighbor has two, a small one for the dining table and a big one in the living room.
There is this big house down the road that has atleast three big trees. I have never been in there but you can see them all lit up from the road. So they may have another one or two that can't be seen from the road.
My house only has one tree.
